What’s really needed for at-risk Black males to be successful in college?

Posted by bmb2025education on May 19, 2008

Despite popular beliefs, there are more black men in dorm rooms than prison cells. Still, once you get on a college campus the terrain can be rough to navigate. We asked some college students to give us some tips and tricks about making the grade. Pendarvis Harshaw, a student at Howard University submitted the best entry. His video, “Higher Learning” can be seen in our featured content in the education category. Check it out here: www.2025bmb.org

What survival tricks do you have to help black men thrive in college? Leave a thoughtful comment here and let us know! The most insightful contributions will be featured on the main BMB site.

Welcome!

Posted by bmb2025education on May 15, 2008

Welcome to the 2025 Campaign for Black Men and Boys Roundtable for Education!

The 2025 Campaign is leveraging the online world of social networks and user-generated content by setting up various BMB Satellites around the web, orbiting the home site at 2025bmb.org. This is the place where we’ll be leading the discussion of educational issues that affect Black men and boys, overseen by Roundtable member Loren Harris of the Ford Foundation. Mr. Harris will be posting compelling and relevant topics for debate and commentary to this site, and we invite you to participate. Those who submit the liveliest and most insightful posts will be invited to extend their ideas in a more formal setting for feature on the main 2025 Campaign website.
